Tucson Electric Power provides safe, reliable power to customers in Southern Arizona. The project involved construction of five new buildings and the renovation of an existing office building, together totaling nearly 140,000-sq.-ft. for the campus-wide development.

Some challenges included repercussions from the COVID-19 pandemic, such as on-site staffing and health and safety protocols. In addition, due to site constraints, the operations center’s exterior had to be completed before the team could begin construction of adjacent structures. This presented a bottleneck in trade workflows, not leaving enough time to conventionally frame and finish two adjoining buildings.

DBC was the perfect solution to these challenges. X-Series EIFS and MCM prefabricated panels were used for the operations center, office and connector building's exterior. This prefabricated approach led to several efficiencies, allowing for the neighboring buildings to begin construction sooner, and providing a high-quality and site-built aesthetic in less time.
