In 2018, DBC was approached by Kaiser Permanente with a unique opportunity to utilize the X-Series product line in an ambitious prefabricated project program. The goal was to build 18 medical office buildings throughout the U.S. with the principles of design for manufacture at its core. CannonDesign and ConXtech were also on-boarded into the program as the prefab design and prefab structural framing respectively. The program, referred to as the “Center of Excellence MOB (Medical Office Building)” series, challenged DBC to create a catalog approach for the exterior skins of the projects.
Completed in 2020, the Hesperia Medical Office was the inaugural project in the series for which DBC provided 198 prefinished EIFS panels and 78 pre-installed windows with an MCM surround. The integrated windows were a first for DBC and have since become a standard product offering in the X-Series line because of the added value for owners.
