Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital Expansion

Wildomar, CA

DBC modeled and manufactured a prefabricated exterior system for the seven-story, 290,000-sq.ft. medical center in Wildomar, CA, Universal Health Services (UHS) Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital Expansion.

Designed to meet HCAI's (OSHPD 1) stringent quality control standards, this project aligns with DBC's expertise in delivering high-quality solutions. This particular project is in a high seismic zone, and each panel is individually connected to the building, allowing the panels to move independently. Each panel is connected back to the building utilizing our unistrut/clip connection and our 2nd point of connection being a sticker connection from each stud and kicked back to the perimeter I beam.

Significant coordination was required for the panel joints and interaction with the curtain wall to ensure compatibility with seismic movements. Additionally, the project faced logistical challenges due to crane access limitations. We could only position the two cranes in separate locations, meaning it needed to be a very large crane in order to install all the panels. This required extensive coordination with DPR Construction and the glazing subcontractor, who also used the same crane. Despite the challenges, the project was successfully completed and erected two months faster than traditional scaffold, sheathing, waterproofing, and a finish system.

Accelerating Acute Care

Time is critical in healthcare construction. At UHS Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital, prefabricated systems, like DBC's exterior wall panels, are driving up to 30% schedule savings. Hear how early collaboration and innovative construction methods are reshaping how acute care facilities are delivered.
